Video Presentations and Podcasts

Video on the Web

All videos are not created equal.

There are many different video file specifications. They do not all play on every computer, and even an individual computer may not play all formats equally well.

We have opted to support QuickTime for embedded video and MP3 for podcasting. QuickTime is highly predictable and plays videos in several formats. QuickTime plays videos on Macintosh and Windows and in many Unix browsers. QuickTime operates both as a standalone video player and as a plug-in for your browser.

You can download QuickTime here. Then follow your computer's normal installation procedure.

Windows users: Be sure to download the complete latest version, not merely an update. Technology marches on, and updating an old version may not allow you to play newer video files saved with more modern compression techniques than may have been available at the time you bought your system.

You need a newer browser to see this embedded video.

Video Clips

Short video clips can be added to your pages in Premium or Enterprise sites.

The example on this page is derived from an consulting presentation. The speaker is Deacon Michael Twiggs of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Seattle.

Your own videos might be excerpts of sermons, festivals, performances...

Certain limits apply to the number and/or size of videos in each service program.

Full motion video streaming is also available as an upgrade service.

Podcasting

Our PODCAST option is new for 2007.

A podcast is a series of audio or video programs. The podcast is presented as episodes that can be a few seconds or quite long in duration.

Podcasts are used in lieu of streaming wherever time-shifting is needed to let members hear or see the presentation on their own schedule.

Members hear the podcast using direct download or an RSS reader or music organizer, such as iTunes.

Podcasting is an optional feature and incurs a fee of $20 per month for the basic service plus storage and bandwidth charges based on actual usage. Implementation of podcasting on your site is $100.
